Two visits to urgent care in one day!!!
Submitted by Kyle on Sat, 10/29/2005 - 20:49. Adam | Kyle | LukeAdam and Luke are making a wigwam in the woods behind our house, the same woods that I sprayed for poison ivy a few months ago. They covered the sides with leaves. Can you see where we are headed here?
A rash showed up on Adam's face a few days ago, but a little hydrocortisone seemed to keep it in check...until this morning when it was swollen and his eye was almost half shut. So, we started our morning with a visit to urgent care to take care of it.
Later this afternoon, Luke and Rachel were on the roof of the storage shed while Adam was handing and tossing stuff up to them. Apparently he tossed something to Luke a little too hard and hit him in the head. Adam came and got me and I found Luke on the roof, bleeding from his forehead and very unhappy. He was in good enough shape to climb down on his own, as he did not want me to help him down. We bandaged him up, but decided later to take him to urgent care too, since the bleeding hadn't completely stopped. After waiting for two hours, he got his wound "super glued" shut. To pass the time, we worked on his spelling and reading with my Palm Pilot.
This was certainly not a typical day in our family, but it was hardly what I would call completely out of the ordinary.
Bonus story: In between doctor visits, I went to the grocery store to get a few things, but nothing special. I wound up getting about 25 bananas, 5 cartons of soymilk, 4 loaves of bread, and a few other things. When I got to the counter, the girl asked me "What's the occasion?" I took me a few seconds to realize that she was commenting on the quantity of bread, milk, and bananas I got. I didn't bother to tell her that this was just a quick trip, not a "real" shopping trip.
